I was able to attend to Erica’s Sugarmon campaign talk, from there I learned that Erica could be the solution for Memphis issues on crimes, poverty and specially on education as well.  She is one of those who was motivated by her surrounding to take action and help the city because of how much confidence they have in her. During the campaign she did not just convince voters to vote for her but she also requested everyone to help make Memphis the best city to be.  She expressed on how much she love this place and that she hate to see all these crimes happening to her lovely city and that must change now.

Memphis is today known to be a city full of crimes, and poverty.  It is known that it would take lot of work with leaders that are capable to make changes for the city and its population.  Erica offered the moving forward together idea which means, the city have been through a lot but from now on all those things will be left behind, and that she will help make Memphis a great city where every individual will benefit from it and move forward together from there. It is interesting that she mentioned that she is a teacher, because as a teacher she sees it all, what kids goes through daily, from there I really understood why she took the steep she did to provide to be the greatest she could for Memphis.

she tells the audience few things that could really convince them to not just vote for her but also trust her.

• Less crimes for our city
• Fight for poverty together
• Reinforce education as solid as possible
• We all will move forward no one will be left behind

The higher the crimes the poorer or the less chance to develop a city will have. Memphis have been for the longest the top 3 cities with the highest crimes rate.  It seems that Memphis and also State leaders have not been paying much attention into this issue, which is causing only increasing crimes and poverty.  It is known if a city has more crimes and poverty, with no doubt the education rates will also keep decreasing. But is there a way to fix all this issue, maybe with Erica Sugarmon plan(fight) , it could be a great way to start. It all will start by unity, uniting people, finding a way to bring happiness in the city and get people to focus more on the positive side, reinforce the state law.  Only a leader who is more interested into public goods could actually start this process and fight for the positive outcome.

I realized the talk was more about being able to fight for the interest of the community as a whole, even though the main reason of the campaign was to be elected. The history of the city was introduced at the same which was kind interesting. It was also meaningful to mention how to start the process of making the city great as a council, because many would question how would a council about to make all of these changes. But what some don’t understand is it only takes courage, determination, passion, love and care to make such a things happen by following the process which requires patience.

In general, Even though Erica’s campaign seems to be great and only in favor of the society and its people, she still fail to succeed on her mission. She lost the election with a percentage of 49.3%.
